      <image:title>Biography - Hi, I’m Anna.</image:title>
<image:caption>I’ve been an artist all of my life. I sold my first batik - “King Nebuchadnezzar on his chariot with his team of horses” - for $45 all the way back in 1973. I bought some Levi’s Californians and platform shoes! I’ve been a teacher too. I taught modern singing to hundreds of students for over twenty years; mosaic and sculpture at the local community college; most importantly, I taught my children how to be good people. My favourite materials are pastels and ink. I enjoy working with abstracts, and you’ll see that many of my artworks are conceptual, spiritual, or trance: sometimes all three. Please take your time enjoying my art, and don’t forget to to say hi!</image:caption>

<image:title>Commissions - Pastels are known for their beautiful colours and longevity.</image:title>
<image:caption>“The unique, optical properties of pastel were also key to its success. It emits a light far brighter than most other surfaces, with many 18th-century viewers speaking of the distinctive ‘bloom’ that enlivened a sitter’s complexion. Cotes, admittedly with some bias, said pastel works were ‘luminous and beautiful beyond all other pictures.” - Christies</image:caption>

Her wrists had been too painful due to Fibromyalgia Syndrome - a debilitating, migratory muscle disease which contracts muscles at its own calling. Artist Anna Boros has been taking colostrum which so far has made changes and improvements within four weeks of starting the course at the advice of the Stem Cell Foundation.</image:caption>

It was actually a beautifully decorated resin vase that was broken by a kitten climbing on to my piano, and shoving it off in the excitement. The symbol of the crocodile hanging on to the Wheel of Fortune in a stellar atmosphere… well, let’s just say that’s best left for the the viewer to decipher.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Blue Lady - Blue Lady</image:title>
<image:caption>Pastel on canvas, 2007 1220 x 1000 The colours in this large work in pastel are blues, greens and brown, with a touch of red for the tiny fingernails. Here we see a central figure of a sad woman. She faces to the viewer’s left. She is partially encased by a brown, rectangle which looks like wood- some sort of barrier. It is as if she is hiding in front of it. She wears blue garments which cover her head, chest and all of her lower half. Her arms, (being a light blue) are exposed. Her hands are near her face, as if reaching close to the face for comfort and tear wiping. Her face is very sad, with tears running down the cheeks. The image is abstracted but with enough definition to understand clear narrative. It is understood that the woman is crying, that she is sad, that she covers herself head to toe in blue wrappings though her hands peek out from behind the swathes, with the arms being exposed. It is clear she seems to find solace in this private area behind what could even be a wooden door? The image of the woman rests onto a light green and blue type of scalloped podium. Behind the brown ‘door’ is a bright green background with a blue green ‘sky’. There is an indication that there is life beyond the brown door if only she takes one break from her sorrow to see the beauty that can be ahead of her. There is a large tear shaped bubble of water falling down from that leaf on the upper left-hand side of the image. Does the bubble represent a large tear?... or life from life? She only needs to lift a hand to touch it. She only just needs to have just some courage to see the way out. To not be afraid.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Self Portrait Exorcism - Self Portrait Exorcism</image:title>
<image:caption>Pastel on canvas, 2010 1220 x 1000 Anna Boros explains that this work depicts the evolution of her life, and of all women. “Women tend to wear many masks. Home duties, work duties, family duties, her own real self… and of course the continual adjustment that life forces one to make. This not only affects the personality, but also cultural and social status. We must continually reposition ourselves to fit life’s needs. Like the woman in ‘Self Portrait Exorcism’, it feels so good to become ourselves and take off that mask. Not unlike coming home from work in the quiet and taking off our uniform. Release, relief, and relaxation.” We see a woman, naked in a seating position, bare breasted. Her right arm reaches behind her head as if ready to take off her mask. Her left arm crosses in front to cover her, relaxed. Her legs are a snaky undulation of flesh that contrasts with the remaining, human portrait. Her feet are small and the sole of her right foot is seen underneath… could it be her moving leg? Her left foot is bent forward, tiny red toenails visible. Her long hair and skin are brown. Her mask is made up, and her lips are full but closed. Eyes closed. The look of a tribal and tattooed design on her face mask. The background is aqua.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Acrylic paint on canvas, 1973 This was one of my first major works at school. I was fourteen years old at the time. I was amazed at surrealist painters; especially Salvador Dali, who was alive and well in this year. This work was about clinging to life, sacrifice, and the versatility to survive it all. At the tender age of fourteen I had already lost my mum and younger brother. Growing up had its challenges. What to do? Be an artist.</image:caption>

As a vertical image it depicts my son’s room and its need for tidying, his house at number eight, fun with a ball, his aptitude for computers, and the window that decorated his room. As a horizontal image, we see the aeroplane toy is now his mother’s arm reaching down to turn off the light, whilst Nicholas sleeps… dreaming of unicorns, flying, genies, and comfort.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Pastel on canvas, 2014 910 x 910 Anna is the archetypal cat lady. She grew up with cats: Shop Cat, Top Cat… Stray Cat. Timmy the Ginger Cat, who ran away when Anna married. And then Anna’s rescue cats, who entered her home in 2005. Enter Little One. Equal parts playful, grumpy, and thoughtful. Especially thoughtful when she meows to say the washing machine has finished, or that she has found a lizard. Most endearingly, Little One will call to you when she has something to show you. Little One wants you to follow, and will take you to see what she wants you to see. “Time spent with cats is never wasted.” - Sigmund Freud</image:caption>
